Engelbrecht and Els Cellars

Jean Engelbrecht, proprietor of RUST EN VREDE ESTATE has joined forces with his close friend the golfer Ernie Els to establish two new cellars GUARDIAN PEAK and ERNIE ELS.  We have been fortunate to represent RUST EN VREDE since we started our business in 1992 and have taken GUARDIAN PEAK  and ERNIE ELS  wines on board as they became available.
RUST EN VREDE

 
Situation - Stellenbosch
  Winemaker - Coenie Snyman
  Wines - High quality red wines all grown on the Estate and all matured in                  new French oak barriques
  We stock their Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Estate Wine.
  The Estate wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot) is their flagship     wine and has repeatedly scored 90+ points in the Wine Spectator.

  Rust en Vrede Manor House 1825

GUARDIAN PEAK

  
Situation - Stellenbosch (up the hill from Rust en Vrede)
  Winemaker - Philip van Staden.
  Wines - Produce red wines which are forward and fruit driven.
  We stock GP SMG (Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache) and GP Shiraz.
  The GP SMG has received accolades from the Decanter on several       occasions.

ERNIE ELS   Situation -  Stellenbosch  (up the hill from Guardian Peak)
  Winemaker - Louis Strydom
  Wines - produce top of the range red wines under the auspices of Jean           Engelbrecht and Ernie Els aligned to the image of the golfer.
  We stock Ernie Els Stellenbosch wine.  This is a classic Bordeaux blend of   Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc.   It is   highly rated by the Wine Spectator and the 2005 vintage received 94 points     classifying this as an outstanding wine and Louis Strydom's best.
